Donald Trump Jr claims father’s indictment is ’no coincidence’ in furious rant

Donald Trump Jr has blasted the criminal charges facing his father, branding them “ridiculous”.

The 45th President’s son claims there is no coincidence behind the indictments his father has faced, claiming each of them occurred the day after a significant development which could paint Joe Biden in a bad light.

It comes after Trump was hit with criminal charges on Tuesday for the third time in four months, this time for plotting to overthrow the result of the 2020 election, which he lost to Joe Biden.

Trump remains the front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, and his son believes his father’s indictment is the latest in a swathe of attempts to silence him.

“What we’re seeing is an unequal system of justice”, he told GB News’ Nigel Farage.

“People can ransack buildings, take over court houses, they can take over sections of towns like they did in Seattle and Portland to no consequence.

“If someone acts out of line and assaults a police officer, they should be arrested. No question.

“The indictments always fall a day after information about Joe Biden come out, links to bribery scandals, links to decisions being made because an enemy or an ally has information about the Bidens.

“Are we going to believe this is all just a coincidence at this point?”

Minutes before the indictment was handed down, Trump posted on his Truth Social media platform that he had heard to expect an indictment.

"I hear that Deranged Jack Smith, in order to interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024, will be putting out yet another Fake Indictment of your favourite President," he wrote.

Officials have testified that Trump pressured them based on false claims of widespread voting fraud. His supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in a bid to stop Congress from certifying Biden's victory.

Trump has remained defiant in the face of legal troubles, political controversies and personal behaviour scandals to remain at the parapet of US politics.

The former president is eligible to run for a second term, even with the constraints fleshed out by the codified constitution.

“In the world in which we live today, if you’re on the political left, you can radicalise the entire federal government against your political enemies.

“I don’t believe any of this has anything to do with January 6th, if it did, why did they wait two and a half years? It’s ridiculous.”

Trump’s legal concerns are continuing to mount with a fourth criminal investigation by a counter prosecutor in Georgia yet to conclude.

The investigation is looking into accusations that suggest he sought to undo his 2020 election loss in that state.

Last Thursday, prosecutors added three more criminal counts against Trump, bringing the total to 40, accusing him of ordering employees to delete security videos as he was under investigation for retaining the documents.
