King Charles features in new film alongside top stars Olivia Colman and Idris Elba

King Charles and a host of famous faces have joined together to feature in a brand-new short film, The Speeches.

The King has made an appearance in a short film, The Speeches, alongside top stars such as Idris Elba and Olivia Colman. The 19 actors and environmentalists joined the monarch as part of the channel RE:TV, which was founded by the King in 2020. The channel, which focuses on climate change, has so far released more than 100 short films about sustainable solutions to help the environment.
In the video, all the stars involved - also including actor Glenn Close - recited King Charles III’s speeches.

The King famously used his time as the Prince of Wales to orchestrate his way through championing environmental issues.

In February 1970, the King made his first speech about environmental issues in the UK.

The stars are reciting speeches across Charles' entire career.

The King opens the video by saying: "Global warming, climate change, and the devastating loss of biodiversity are the greatest threats [that] humanity has ever faced..."

The voice then cuts into actor Idris Elba, who carries on what the King was saying.

As he finishes a screen shows the title of the video, along with the words, '50 Years of Speaking Up for The Planet'.

At the end of the short video, which is just over three minutes long, the King can be seen concluding the clips.

"And, we've got to remember that the natural world is what sustains us."

The video also features clips of natural disasters exacerbated by the climate crisis, including drought.

Locations such as Kew Gardens can be seen in the video.
